On June 13 -- 100 days until
the International Day of Peace -- the largest
Concert ever for Peace will begin, taking
place in hundreds of locations with hundreds
of performers worldwide, leading up to the
globalcast Peace Day Concert on September 21,
and then continuing again in locations around

PEACE BELL RINGING
Each year the International
Day of Peace is launched at the United Nations
with a minute of silence and the ringing of

UNITED NATIONS
OBSERVANCE
Each year an event
involving hundreds of children takes place at
the United Nations, coordinated by the UN
Department of Public Information and the UN
CyberSchoolBus in collaboration with a number
of NGOs. A video-conference links young people
in many other countries as well and the
program is webcast live on the Internet. Peace
Ambassadors like Jane Goodall and Michael

PEACE VIGILS
Each year thousands of Peace Vigils take place
for the International Day of Peace. These
range from small vigils of just a few people
to huge gatherings of up to 300,000 people.
